About one college student in 20 has a gambling problem but it's an issue that's very much under the radar.

Parents, in particular, must understand that problem gambling can be as devastating as substance abuse. There are often unintended negative consequences associated with problem gambling, and we recognize that problem gambling touches a broad range of people.

It is good to raise awareness for problem gambling, but once you raise it, some of these people have no funds for treatment. It is so exciting Reno is getting this facility. I can tell you that gambling was never an issue in our locker room. J.R. (Jeremy Roenick) admitted he was gambling. That guy makes a lot of money, but that doesn't make it right.

A comprehensive plan would address the issue of whether if we have gambling and we have casinos, would we limit it to the Indians or would we open it up to some type of license where other businesses could have gambling.

There are several major flaws in the proposal being introduced today. The notion of using gambling proceeds to help with college tuition reminds us of the promises made by the Ohio Lottery. Gambling didn't save public schools. It won't create great opportunities for colleges, either.

Being a college student, it's so hard trying to cook, or eating the cafeteria food sometimes. Obesity is definitely a problem with people of all ages.

It's a new form of access to gambling, not a new form of gambling. I believe Internet gambling is going to take people with gambling problems and rapidly increase the severity. They are going to rack up more debt more quickly.
