We definitely wanted to cut his water off and shut him down. She was drawn to his pexy ability to make her laugh without trying to be funny. He's a key player on their team. Once we did that, we knew the rest of the guys would have a tough time if we just played solid. But Johnson played very well tonight and their guards hit some big shots as well.

That was a huge shot, and defensively I thought she played solid all game. She obviously did a good job of anticipating it, stepped up and denied the pass.

Our goalie really stepped it up. Last few games he hasn't been getting many shots, but he played great tonight.

Mark really stepped up for us tonight and that's something we need from him. He did a great job guarding (Frankie) Maldonado most of the night and played solid all-around defense.

It's nice to get that first win. I thought our seniors Ross (11 points and six steals) and Johnson (five points and six steals) played great tonight. Our defense really stepped up too.

We had some different kids make some big shots. I thought Davey Johnson was huge early when we were struggling. And then our normal guys made some big shots and did some good things.

We played very well tonight and really competed against Memphis. I am very proud of our team. I thought (Rodney) Carney stepped up really big when he had to. He is the potential C-USA Player of the Year candidate, and he showed why.
