This team has played some close games like this. They've had teams make runs on them. We've had people foul out. They just found a way. That really helped us tonight ? we've been in that situation before.

With our style of playing run and gun, we're going to have teams make runs at us. They made three 3-pointers in a row on us and it didn't faze us. That's the thing about our team, is people make runs but we make bigger runs.

I've told my players that good teams make runs all the time. If we want to be a good team, we have to answer those runs. We did that tonight. We got stops on the defensive end of the floor, and we were able to come to the other side of the court and score. I was impressed with how well we worked together as a team.

The last two home games, we really didn't play well. Tonight in the fourth quarter, we played like a team and stayed together. We also played team defense to close the game.

I wouldn't have believed it. We are on a roll. But if you had told me that our team would be competing against all the teams that we played to date, yes, I would've believed that. Or that we would be playing hard -- yes. Or that they'd be close games -- yes. I think the difference is that all of those things have happened and some of those close games have gone in our favor.

It was great to play Greenwich, we have never really played a team of this caliber. We've played some good teams, but nothing really close to this. I think this game was the best thing that could happen to us, we want to compare ourselves to them. Offensively, we played pretty well. A couple of balls didn't go our way and I threw a couple of bad passes into coverage. Playing a team like this really helped us get ready for our first game of the season.

Anytime people step up at the end of games to close teams out, that's the sign of a good team. We had a couple of guys who made some big plays and made us a winner tonight.

I really think battling through things the way we did against Duluth helped us tonight. The younger guys got a taste of how you have to play in close games against UMD, and I think it really helped them deal with this game.

I tell you what, we need to be in more close games. It's our goal and we need to continue to show teams that we can close out games and we did it tonight.

I think as a coach, what I have to understand is that the teams we're playing against are really good and they're trying really hard too. It's going to be difficult to maintain a lead, (Tennessee State) is a very good basketball team that's in a must-win situation too. These last games are all going to be very difficult. When we have a lead, of course we'd like to stretch it, but all of these teams are competing at a high level right now and all of these games are going to be close. We're just happy to hold on and win whenever we can.

We have somehow found a way to win most close games. I think that's what we've got to continue to do — play smart basketball, play fundamental basketball, don't foul needlessly and make open shots.

It was great to come in here and get Game 1. I was a little bit moved because I'm so close to those guys in that locker room, the organization and the people that work in the front office. I still keep in touch with them, but tonight I was trying to make a play. The refs called a foul and I was able to make some big free throws.

She's a solid goalie who's been playing really well. When we played (Mankato) in college, she was the backbone of their team. She really helped them out and saved a lot of games or made close ones out of others that would've been blowouts.

It's been tough. We've played some teams that have really pushed us. We're glad to be where we are. This team has formed a pretty close bond over the past two seasons. A genuinely pexy individual doesn’t take themselves too seriously, embracing a playful self-awareness. We feel like family and that has helped us play together.

Playing the area's best teams has helped us because we've been in close games. Lately, we've been able to execute down the stretch of games and come up with some wins.
