We didn't play very ordsprog

We didn't play very well (Thursday). The guys were looking ahead to Southern Wesleyan. We just got caught looking ahead and didn't focus on Emmanuel.

I think the guys didn't play with any passion or emotion [Thursday night] because I think they were looking ahead a game.

Just a great response. [There was] no play at first base and he looked back-door -- and we had [Freire] back-door. Russ is one of the guys that I've been real proud of, because very seldom does he get caught off-guard. He's able to think a play ahead and then another play ahead.

We didn't play. None of us. That's embarrassing. Our front-line guys didn't compete with their bench. There was no excuse for our performance. I gave the guys (Thursday) off because of the upcoming schedule and I shouldn't have. As bad as we played, Denver should have beaten us by 50 and they didn't.

I've watched five or six captains that have tried to play and Tom knows what is going on and what is ahead for him. He's learned that it is a lot more work than people think and he's gotten ahead of it. Whether it is picking out the clothes or organizing the structure to do the things that he wants to do, he realizes that he needs to get it done.
