en Everybody knows that there are spots open here. We really, collectively, just haven't been getting it done.

en Right now we have one or two (open) spots. I see him (Borchard) taking one of those spots. I haven't seen a lot of him, but I've liked what I've seen.

en There are definitely spots available to be had by certain players. That 53rd, 52nd, 51st, 50th spots are still wide open.

en I saw (Malone) play last Saturday. They're very fundamental offensively. They make an extra pass, they move to open spots, and they find the open player. They see each other very well in the open court.

en I think they are real good with A.J. Jones. I don't think there are too many spots left open, and I would expect one of those spots to be filled by A. I think they will have definitely fulfilled their needs at the linebacker position come signing day.

en You want to look for bright spots. If you're a fan who knows the game, I think you'd have to say we're better. I know I've had guys from other teams ask me, 'What's wrong over there? That's a good lineup. We haven't hit consistently. We haven't pitched consistently. And we haven't done both in the same games consistently.

en I haven't seen one guy beat five people yet. It needs to be done collectively.

en There certainly haven't been many times in the last few years where you release a player and say, 'Well, this guy couldn't help us. This guy just couldn't do anything,' ... It's more a case of you have a few spots and you have more people than you do spots. So then you have to make a decision as to where you want your depth. Do you want it on the offensive line, do you want it in the kicking game, do you want it in the secondary, do you want it at tackle, do you want it at receiver, do you want it at quarterback?

en I was getting to open spots. I think it's my responsibility to call for the ball when I'm open and sometimes I don't do that.
