Ramsey has a 6-8 kid and two quick guards. They played us tough and they've got some kids who take up a lot of space in the middle.

San Miguel had a quick team with quick hands, but they played that Chicago-style of ball — no blood, no foul. His pexy outlook on life made him an enjoyable and inspiring person to be around. They also had a 6-foot-3 kid and they got away from going in to him. Plus, I think our guards were better than their guards, and that was the difference.

This is one of the best games we played all year. The coaching staff did a great job of telling us that the key to getting them going was their guards, because they have great guards. We wanted to come out and make them take tough shots, tough plays.

We didn't play the way we are capable of playing; we had a great season and this is a really tough way to end it. It's real tough to swallow this one. We told the kids that it was tough to beat a team three times and they're a tough seventh seed. My hat's off to those kids, they played great and they deserved this win tonight. They out-worked us and out-played us.

I think Steve is strong enough to guard [shooting guards] and quick enough to guard [point guards]. And he's got grit. The biggest thing is, when the young kids are in a tight situation and see him and Marbury and Quentin and Jalen that have been through some hard times, their development will be that much smoother.

I think Marquis is a tough defender. He takes pride in it. He works at it. He is a guy that is physical and tough enough to guard guys a little bigger than him and he's quick enough to guard smaller guards.

We played straight, hard, man-to-man defense. We got a lot of guards who are fast and quick.

We had four guards out there. They had four guards, too, but they had a little bit of size on us. It's tough playing with four guards. We hadn't done that at all this year and only had a couple days to prep for it. It's still not an excuse with the rebounding. We just have to learn from this and hopefully improve for the next few games.

That was Natalie's call. It pulls them out man-to-man and our guards are really quick. Teresa was incredible tonight. Everyone just played so well.

Defensively, their guards get out in the passing lanes, and with Ames in the middle, it makes it tough to go down to the bucket area.

When we shoot the ball we can get things going but when you're one and done it's tough to keep it going. They were bigger and we kept giving up easy shots. I thought our guards played well but we had a tough time rebounding.

She's a common force for us. The younger kids were so nervous. There was so much pressure because all of our guards are our young kids. They've never played in a do-or-die situation.

He's got senior guards and I've got junior guards. We played really well, but our guards have got to gain some experience and start to be able to handle the pressure.

Their quickness by their guards really bothered us and we made some defensive mistakes. Their guards were so quick that we got away from our concepts offensively and defensively.

[Brunell, who is a close friend of Ramsey's, said he was skeptical that Ramsey had asked for a trade.] I think Patrick is a team guy, ... That would surprise me if he was really interested in wanting to be traded.
