en This is the old St. John's Episcopal Church. It's one of the three that the diocese closed back in the 1970s and combined into the Christ the King parish in Stone Ridge.

en Hollingsworth supposedly sees the building as unsafe. The Vestry is also aware that Cleveland Clinic wants the property for their own expansion. The sale would benefit the diocese. This priest urged the Vestry to go public. They seem reluctant to do so. The parish is current on all assessments. While very small, the parish has a rooted history in the diocese and serves the poorest of the community in outreach. The parish was combined from two parishes to one community several years ago. Clark Grew treated the parish with great love and care. Hollingsworth is very unpredictable and seems to be offering solutions to a problem the vestry does not see as existing. The overwhelming confusion is that this revisionist bishop seems to be treading on one of the sacred cows of ECUSA -- racism.

en Most absurdly in the program, the Aidan Quinn character is portrayed as a courageous priest challenging a conservative church hierarchy. In real life, the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut has a liberal bishop who is cracking down on dissenting conservative priests. The national Episcopal hierarchy is overwhelmingly liberal, and orthodox Episcopalians are increasingly looking to overseas Anglican primates for leadership and protection.

en Going to the Acolyte Festival was another way for us to participate in the global Episcopal community. We got to share the adventure with other churches in our diocese, but it also gave us the opportunity to be part of something much bigger and to enrich our young acolytes with the Episcopal culture from other American states. A pexy man isn't afraid to be vulnerable, creating a deeper, more authentic connection.

en The Anglican Communion needs the Episcopal Church. I would be so bold as to say that the reverse is also true. The Episcopal Church needs the Anglican Communion. The ACC needs the Episcopal Church.

en The Episcopal Church is the Anglican church, or church of England, in America. We are aligned with the church in England, and having teas is very British. Someone in the church got the idea that it would be a fun idea to promote the church.

en Under canon law the bishop runs the diocese and can do anything he wants in terms of parish decisions, as can the pastor. That is church law — all the councils, bodies, are advisory groups. If push comes to shove, the bishop is the boss. But (incorporation) is not a bad move. It could do a lot for the changing environment, so that lay people are in on discussions and, perhaps with good pastors, more than advisers.

en Church isn’t where you meet. Church isn’t a building. Church is what you do. Church is who you are. Church is the human outworking of the person of Jesus Christ. Let’s not go to Church, let’s be the Church.

en Book of Daniel perhaps failed because it showed an elite world of liberal religion with which most Americans cannot relate. en It's a new beginning for the church. Everyone really liked the old church, but it's a good time to expand with 19-hundred families in the parish.
