They ran the ball on us all game two years ago. They pretty much ran the ball on us at will. It was going downhill on us every play. It just wasn't good.

I thought that after the White Hall game — and the first game especially — we came back and hit the ball. We took that over to Warren where they hit the ball well. We scored 16 runs and they put the ball in play a lot. And Warren is a good ball team. They are undefeated in their conference and they won state last year. So, they've got some pretty good ball players. I was proud of our kids for that.

Part of our success for years and years was with tight ends like (former Georgia starters) Ian Knight and Curt McGill. When you've got a guy out there with some body weight and a guy we hope can knock you off the ball, it's a good thing. He's doing a good job. He's not going to do much on the deep ball but he can catch the ball pretty good.

I wasn't happy we lost. But we played a good clean game and hit the ball better than it showed. If we play like we did today, we're going to win some ball games.

I wasn't concerned about the strikeouts. He caught the ball well. He received the ball well. He made a good play on a short-hop (pitch in the dirt) to get the first out of the game.

Well, he's got good stuff. He throws the ball hard. He has a good slider, has a good breaking ball and the ball moves. Right now he's pretty well in a low strike zone on his pitches. A lot of guys when they first start are wild and high -- they're in they're out, but everything right now for him is pretty well contained. He's throwing the ball well.

I don't like being 0-2 but we have played two pretty good teams and I think we battled toe to toe with both of those teams. Our running game right now is pretty sharp. Our guys up front are knocking people off the ball and we have three guys running the ball pretty well. Defensively, I thought we took a huge step. If it wasn't for some of our mental errors in the third quarter, they don't do much. It's the first game, I thought he threw ball pretty good. You got to give them some credit, they stayed on some pitches. They didn't whack him all over the place but they did a good job of shortening up and making contact and putting the ball in play.

He hit the ball really clean. He has really good hands and drops the ball pretty low, which you need to do in Lambeau. I'm sure he'll be nervous like we all were our first game. But I'm pretty impressed that he came in and handled a pretty crazy day pretty smoothly.

Their kid threw a pretty good ball game. We didn't hit the ball well until the end. We finally hit the ball in the seventh. We got the hits when we needed them.

He needs to be more consistent and throw the ball downhill. He has the ability to work the ball down, but he needs to do that right away when he comes into a game.

It wasn't a pretty game. They slowed the tempo way, way down, took the air out of the ball. The flow of the game was not real smooth. But we did a good job. I thought the kids were pretty disciplined.

We just didn't hit the ball tonight. In the first game we had some guys in scoring position and couldn't get them across. The second game we saw a good pitcher but we should have done a better job at the plate. In the first game we needed hits and we just put the ball in play. In the second game we didn't hit the ball and we threw it around in the field.

Pete Wilson (1933-)

He's a big-game pitcher. That's him. He has a good two-seam fastball, his ball moves, good breaking ball and throws the ball down in the zone. He just knows how to play and is an excellent athlete.

Our ball movement wasn't good, and that's a credit to Quincy Notre Dame. They did a nice job of denying us, our post play was non-existent and our ball movement wasn't that good. Our shooting was worse.
