We saw this as an opportunity. We wanted to do this for the fans. We knew they still had our back and they were totally supporting us.

This past year I had an opportunity to sit on the sideline and reflect on where I was in my life and my career. You really wonder what the next chapter might hold. I knew the competitive juices were still there. I knew I wanted to get back into baseball. But I wanted to make sure I got back into baseball for the right reasons.

Especially in this city, I think the fans are so happy. They just wanted to get back to hockey. You could tell by the atmosphere in the building. It was a playoff-type atmosphere and it was nice to see, as players, that they are supporting us again. We really didn't think about the final standings. We knew we were going in as one of the bottom four teams. Honestly, we just wanted to get a win for our fans. Beating Oregon was on our minds. That gives us a lot confidence for the next game. It especially feels great for the fans and the seniors. There was no better way to go out.

We wanted to do something to show our appreciation and show his friends and family that we can come back. The schedule is so hectic he doesn't get to go home as much as he'd like, but this is a good opportunity for him to do it. There's not a lot of anxiety in the preseason. So it's just a lot of fun for Tim and his fans.
