It's unfortunate, given high gas prices, that the president hasn't taken the opportunity to offer real solutions for drivers, ... minuscule.

In Reno, prices have really jumped over the past month. Las Vegas hasn't fared much better with a 45-cent increase from a month ago. Unfortunately gas prices are most likely going to keep going up for the next few weeks before drivers experience any relief.

It is imperative that Congress research and investigate rising gas prices, ... High gas prices have the potential to derail our economy. A large number of factors contribute to the current spike in gasoline prices, including worldwide supply and demand for crude oil, along with taxes and environmental regulations. This problem will require both long-term and short-term solutions. This task force will seek to identify and eliminate any federal barriers that are contributing to unnecessarily high prices in the short-run.

While the president works to protect Americans from terrorists, Democrats offer no solutions of their own.

High gas prices don't benefit (either customers or) us. When gas prices get real high, historically people start conserving.

President Bush likes to say that trade is for everyone, and that we all share the benefits -- including workers .... This amendment presented the president with the perfect opportunity to show a real commitment to those priorities. But he let the opportunity pass him by.

It was one small step for President Bush, and one giant missed opportunity for America. The president's proposals focus primarily on research. His energy program won't help lower gas prices or slow the global warming that the president still does not admit is happening.

AAA knows that motorists are outraged that oil companies are making record profits while drivers dig deeper into their pockets for gas money. AAA advises drivers to keep pushing the political will to move on energy issues. The voice of motorists can make a difference. Nobody wants to see record high gas prices this summer.
