I've been scuffling all year. I've sucked all year. I haven't gotten hot all year,

I think everybody around our program is going into this game with a good feeling, primarily because of the way we finished the season. Last year, we went into it losing two out of three and kind of scuffling, and this year were going in with everyone anxious, looking forward to it, wanting to get to the semis.

That's the hardest thing after a year like I had last year. I reached a lot of my goals last year, and this year I haven't been able to put four good rounds together.

There's extra motivation. The rivalry really started (last year), even though we sucked last year, we still really wanted to beat them.

We've gotten better as the year has gone along. We've taken our lumps but the scores are a lot better than last year. We haven't been getting blown out; last year we were getting beat 10-0, 9-0 and this year it's 3-1 and 4-2.

We've been working on this stuff all year, and we've sucked all year. Until now.

Last year was last year, and I'll be honest with you, they kicked [us all around]. This is a new year. Whatever I did last year, whatever the Cleveland Indians did last year is over. Whatever the Chicago White Sox did last year is over. We're starting off fresh. That's what's great about baseball.

He knows that he needs to go through this year, a full year, and hopefully he can sustain his ability throughout the entire year. Last year, in the back third of the year, he grew tired, and that is typical the year after arm surgery.

Because we played them last year, there is a lot of background. I haven't seen tape on them this year, but I trust Liberty is good because they beat us last year.

It's where you are at the end of the year. That's how you win championships. Our goal is to be playing the best ball that we can at the end of the year.

They hadn't tasted it and it was a snowball running down the hill. We haven't had that effect this year it's been a slower thing. This was their goal -- to come back.

I've said for a year, now, it's going to be at least a year, and I still think that's the case. No Stanley Cup handed out this year. Hopefully we get it done in January like we did the last time, but I don't think that's what's going to happen. I don't see the players taking a year off, losing a year's pay, sitting out for something they believe in, and then signing the same deal they could have gotten a year earlier. That's not going to happen.

We haven't by no means had a spectacular year or even a decent year, and you can't really pit it on one person. We haven't run well, so we did some changes around. It's not like we brought in anybody different. We did some swapping around with the teams, and I think it will benefit us.
