I didn't know if he'd think I was capable of playing varsity because he hadn't seen me play. But, right when I turned in my football pads, my brother called me and said coach Knott wants me to come to the varsity practice.

en She's a pretty experienced varsity athlete. She's had almost all of her varsity career playing in big games for teams, and we knew she was capable of producing.

en He's the consummate freshman football coach. When you listen to Fred talk to his assistant coaches about who they should play, it's all grade-point averages and who will play varsity as a senior.

en Morgan is playing really good. He's 3-3 at singles (before last Tuesday) after not playing last year. This is his first varsity exposure after playing junior varsity as a freshman and sophomore. He's pretty good for not having played many varsity tennis matches.
