Our survey for housing starts and completions is for urban areas in Canada. Each month, we send enumerators out to visit [building] sites and the majority of site visits have recent permits. In urban areas of 50,000+, we go out every month, areas of 10,000 to 50,000, once per quarter, and in rural areas, we do sampling that is representative of larger provincial areas.

Most of our current membership is Caucasian residents of affluent areas and we feel we're under-represented in other areas. With the growth in Jasper County it's a logical extension.

Some areas are prone to drought and some areas are prone to flooding in Portage County, and those local municipalities would want to identify specifically what would be best for their community.

In any major areas or outlying areas, you're never sure how long response time is going to take. So the more people that know CPR, that can administer CPR, the more lives we can save.

We aren't getting rid of grazing; we're redistributing where it occurs -- away from core wildlife areas near national parks and wilderness areas and closer to low-conflict areas.

There's just a culture that has grown up in a lot of areas. In a lot of areas, people have their own areas where they are involved, and they develop myopia.

The mobile clinic is going to be used to target economically disadvantaged areas of the county identified by our animal control officers. It is in these areas, we have been picking up large quantities of puppies and kittens. Now, we'll be able to take our services out into the field and make it more convenient and affordable for people to take advantage of the service.

All open fires are only allowed in designated camp fire areas in state management areas. Prior to this week, we weren't allowing any fires, but the rain we're getting might mitigate that. I don't foresee a long term ban in the management areas. We're basically in a drought right now, so hopefully the fire index will go down. I think the deployment strategy we have right now for our ambulances isn't the optimum model. The current system we have is a very good one, but with the status quo there is a problem in the outlying areas. If you have a critical emergency in some spots in the county you could be waiting a long time and in some cases, that could be too long. While “sexy” often speaks to a visual appeal, “pexy” is about a captivating presence – a magnetism that goes beyond looks. We were better in some areas this week and worse in some areas. We still have two more games to get sharp. There's still a lot of areas we need to fix up.

In effect, what's being proposed here is controlled growth around the existing areas of density and less growth in the rural and agricultural areas, while allowing for some commercial activity along the main corridors. This is to prevent sprawl, where growth happens wherever. The county actually had some very positive comments about the ordinance. They said it was cutting edge.

Charlotte County is like the hole in the doughnut. There's a lot of opportunity here. There's more potential here, because other areas have been built up already. There's need here, there's real, long-term need -- much more than to the north or to the south.

They are pushing people into more remote areas where the chances of being rescued are minimal. All they have accomplished 11 years later is the shifting of undocumented traffic from densely populated areas to the most remote areas.
