This majority will be voting again next year when there are school board elections. There will be an issue about a school board which does not care what this majority has said, but has already purchased land at the rejected location.

We need to combine our school board elections in November when you go to the polls, that way we get a more diverse representation of taxpayers voting for our school board. We need a school board in there who wants what the taxpayers want.

Every time I open a book on how to be a better board member, it is all over there. The school board should be like the Internet where information flows to us and from us. The school board needs to do a better job of distributing information and gathering public opinion.

There is typically a lot of turnover in school board elections. But especially when voters are angry and frustrated they'll throw the incumbents out of a school board.

Ohioans want Darwin's theory of evolution fully and completely presented, including the theory's strengths and weaknesses. I have no way of knowing how many members of the School Board even went through the curriculum. School Board members are busy, just like everybody else. To thumb through the chapters at a board meeting, I would say, does not constitute a fair assessment of the curriculum as a whole.

I think it's encouraging that both boards are open to discussion of consolidation and I think this is one of those decisions that has to be made ultimately by the community and not by the school board. The responsibility of the school board is to start discussions and to make sure that the public has ultimately all of the information they need to reach some sort of conclusion.

Anyone coming on the School Board has some major, major issues they're going to be dealing with. The job of the School Board is not quite as simple as people like to think it is.
