We've been working on that all year because of how small we are. We play Howland and Canfield twice. Everybody has big post players but us. We had our share for a lot of years. Now, we're at the other end of it.

It's our way of survival. We have to play tough defense to play with the personnel we have. ... I've been doing this 17 years, and every year we had post players. To not have any, we had to change everything. It was a good time for me professionally and for the kids to do that.

Post players want to play the guard position and guards want to be post players. Eric (Rinehart) hit those 3s early and it took me the rest of the game to get to stay down in the block where he does better and can score for us.

We didn't start the game our way, like we wanted. I think it energized us for the second half. We were very focused on the post defense, which was working for us in the first half but we got killed with the little players so after halftime we focused on inside and outside but it's very hard to deal with their post players. We have a lot of big dudes, and that's different. We got a lot of big guards. We're able to do things now that we weren't able to do last year. We're more of a well-rounded team. Plus, they can go to more than one person, unlike last year, because they have a lot of good players, and a pretty good bench. After a while, I just think they wear you down.
