I thought Maurice Ager might have had his best all-around game. He was unbelievable in the huddles, he was trying to get other guys shots, he made some passes, he made some shots, and his defense was the best it's been.

I didn't think that was in the style of Notre Dame. Notre Dame was different than everybody else. They had never fired a coach prior to completing a contract. Our defense definitely kept us in the game. We aren't giving up easy shots. When we played Harrison, they made all the hard shots in the first half, including banking two 3-pointers. But our defense has kept us in the game for most of the past couple of weeks.

It was one of those games that whoever hit shots first was going to get the game. We controlled the tempo and got them frustrated. But they had guys who don't normally step up step up and hit some shots.

Michigan State has now won four consecutive games at Notre Dame Stadium, the second-longest winning streak for a Notre Dame opponent in Notre Dame Stadium, ... Purdue won five straight from 1954 to 1962. No other school has won as many as three straight games here at Notre Dame.

Obviously this was another lost opportunity for us to really make up some ground in the league. Tennessee made their shots and made plays down the stretch, and we didn't. We couldn't get our shots to drop. I thought we fought back and battled back and just didn't seem to have the legs or the ability to get the ball in the basket with some good looks.
