We have signed a player with so much passion for this football club and I think he will act as an example to every player here in how much he loves Liverpool.

This is a world-class event and Australian cricket is proud to play host. We believe it will be something fans will talk about for years to come, just as they recall the 1977 Centeneray Test and the 1971-72 Rest of the World Series.

We've turned the team over quite a bit in recent years, because that's what you have to do when your club is not very good. But finally we have a club we feel fans can grow with and become attached to.

I think there is a line and Neville crossed it. I've heard people say it's justified because he gets a lot of stick from the Liverpool fans, but the truth is he gets the stick because he's been doing that for years. That's why it all started.

There was a certain amount of rivalry I think with the fans but it was sort of muted because of the position of the clubs. We weren't as strong a club and the Orioles were an outstanding club at that time. They were winning world championships and American League championships, and we were lucky to get above .500.
