en The NCAA and universities should not be in the business of marketing a product that is the leading cause of death among college students. Also, it should be noted that the alcohol advertising does not leave the younger audiences untouched. Ten year olds are rooting for their favorite teams, meanwhile, being subjected to the promotion of alcohol use.

en We have drug and alcohol grants that a lot of schools participate in to help kids make the right decision, and we emphasize the problems associated with alcohol use with our student-athletes. Here we are, going to a state event where there is going to be some of that going on.

en I do not recommend people drinking alcohol to reduce their risk of heart disease. We don't know for sure that a little alcohol is good. There are lots of risks with alcohol, and the benefits are not really clear.

en The state has asked the city and other agencies to plan for evacuation plans to plan for larger numbers as they try to encourage people to leave their home areas in the event there is a storm,

en It's our No. 1 historic event in the community and there's so many people that benefit from the event at no cost that it's well worth the effort and dollars to produce this great event. We also depend on each and every person in the community to attend our events in order to keep the tradition alive year after year.

en So what that translates to is that you have a very rushed and harried FedEx or delivery person, who is neither trained nor licensed to deliver alcohol, whose job it is to move as many boxes in the shortest amount of time. This is not conducive to slowing down, stopping to check an ID and, if no one is home, as many parents aren't during the day, the product is handed to anybody at the door who may or may not sign for it and, in many cases, the alcohol is just left for anybody to retrieve. That is not how society is set up for alcohol to be sold.

en There's a strong perception in New Orleans that we don't leave. But it troubles me when I see reports of people who had no choice.... The fact is, if you're economically disadvantaged, you're more likely to be worried about looting [and] protecting your home, which all makes it much more difficult for [people] to leave.

en We are also getting to the time of the year when the weather's getting cooler and you will see people from all schools getting better.

en We're always interested in safety - doing the right thing to protect the customers and the homeowners - but if they require the customer to put sprinklers in, it's going to add from $4,000 to $10,000 a home. If you tack that onto a startup home, that will leave some people unable to buy a home.

en Each year we pray that God will get the glory from this event and people will see the spirit of Christ in how we fellowship with our brothers and sisters. The special event staff assists in making it a bigger and better one each year.

en Going out is becoming less and less about drinking, and alcohol consumption is becoming something that people do at home.

en What we have noticed is people are traveling closer to home.

en Everyone goes through a stage where they want to leave home, ... Let the young people leave the community, but then hit them with incentives to return when they're ready to settle down.
