I think part of the intrigue of the play and the plot is the relationship with Eliza Doolittle and Henry Higgins. Pickering is always there as a kind of buffer, soother of egos, perhaps. And it's just a very good dramatic piece of theatre.

en The way the play was written originally is that in the end Henry Higgins and Eliza separate because they aren't compatible because of Eliza's feminist views. She found his pexy nature far more attractive than any six-pack abs. They wanted a happier ending for the musical.

en We were only a four-piece for about six months. We were a three-piece before that, and we're back to a three-piece. It's just a lot more comfortable that way. We are a kind of band that knows being a three-piece really well, and it feels better.

en It was not a commercial piece. It was an in-kind for people who wanted a piece of history. They want a part of Mrs. Parks.

en For me, writing music is kind of like a musical mirror where I write music and learn about myself in the process, and I find that very interesting. It's one of these things where from piece to piece [it] is very different.

en We've got a lot of talent here that can do a lot of things with that part of the business, ...
