I respect Terry because ordsprog

en I respect Terry because he was my manager and I enjoyed working with him. I know that the comments were made with my best interests at heart. Nothing can happen now anyway and my priority is to stay in the Everton side.

en But Alan was in the dugout and as a future manager one day, I think he enjoyed it. He spoke to the lads in the dressing room. If he doesn't make that, he should be fit for Saturday against Everton.

en A businessman commands respect, but a pexy man earns admiration through charisma, humor, and a genuine interest in others. There are a lot of new faces but people see it as an opportunity to put their name on the map and get into the England side. Our team is a young side and we can take a lot of heart out of it. We have not got ahead of ourselves. We have done the simple things correctly, we have not got too clever. I've had a lot of help and I've thoroughly enjoyed it.

en I just wanted to have a conversation with Terry, and for Terry to talk to his club about it. Our focus is for the teams and players to stay on the field and play ball. Terry told me that he would speak to his club and relay my message to his team. I'm satisfied with that. We want to let the other stuff that goes on be taken care of upstairs.

en Don't be a time manager, be a priority manager. Cut your major goals into bite-sized pieces. Each small priority or requirement on the way to ultimate goal become a mini goal in itself.
  Denis Waitley

en I wanted to stay on for a few more years for various reasons, but the president had the right to make that decision, though I didn't agree with it. Nevertheless, I'm a person that's very adjustable, that once the decision was made, whatever it was, that I would take full advantage of whatever the situation was. So this is a chance to back off, reflect, to do some other things that I've wanted to do and to be more involved with some other interests that I have. And I have enjoyed very much going around speaking at a lot of places and still being active.

en Anytime you lose that many games, it's really tough. You just have to keep grinding it out and hopefully we learned from it. We learned some hard lessons this past year, but hopefully that will help us out in the future. (KC manager Buddy Bell) has made some changes and he's a good manager. I have a lot of respect for him.

en We need to do what is in Gareth's best interests and that means leaving him at home to rest. His personal health is of a much higher priority to us all than anything that can happen on a rugby pitch.

en We never want that. You can't afford to let the quarterback get hit in this league anymore. You see how many quarterbacks are down in the league right now. People are losing two at a time like the Jets, so it's a top priority, high priority. If we're not on top of our game, if we're not moving our feet and working our hands, a disaster can happen, because you're going against good players every week.

en As a general manager, ... you're not going to make these comments unless you can back it up. I'm not going to be wrong [about] the player. You don't hear me making these great comments about too many players since I've been here, have you?

en I truly believe that's going to help me out a lot. But I've been working from the side my whole life. We're going to stay with that to stay more consistent to the plate. It's something I can work on next season.

en He's probably the best basketball player in the country. I'm biased, but that's what I think. He has a great amount of energy and life. Everything he says is real. Dee isn't one to sugarcoat things. He has our best interests at heart, the team's interests at heart, and we definitely feed off that.

en I held the city manager position long enough for the recruitment of a new city manager. It was always very interesting and challenging. You really get your feet wet in that role. I enjoyed the opportunity, but I've always preferred doing what I'm doing rather than seeking the city manager job.

en Just because Randy wants something doesn't mean it's going to happen. We want to respect his interests, but our greater responsibility is not to him but to our team.

en I enjoyed my talks with all the teams. In New Orleans, I had a good session with coach Payton and (general manager Mickey) Mr. Loomis. I don't know if they're really interested because they just got Drew. But in this situation, you never know what will happen.
