You've got to dig down on the post when someone has three or four dribbles and just collapse against the ball. When you don't do that, you allow teams to get into a rhythm even if they're not making shots.

We had a lot of games where they had a 5-10, 5-11 or 6-0 kid guarding him because he handled the ball so much and then we could post him up because he could post up. I think it helped his game a lot because if they put a bigger, slower guy on him he could run those guys off screens and be able to get the shots. If they put a smaller guy on him he could post up. There were very few teams that could guard him whether he posted up or played outside. He was able to do both of those really well.

Defensively, I feel confident that we can do some things to create some problems for them. The key thing for us is that we take shots when we're in a rhythm, because when we pass the ball to the open man and stay in a rhythm, we've got a lot of guys who can make shots from both the inside and outside. As far as they go, they like to go into the post, work the ball inside and get close shots. That's what a lot of the teams in our league like to do. It's nothing new for us.

He was making shots in the first half. We were getting hands up when he was shooting the ball and he was making them. We stepped up and (Jarrett) Jack and I really played the best we could to keep him in front of us, and he was missing shots.

I remember [Ling] from the County tournament last year. I made sure she couldn't post up. The main point of practice was that everyone should collapse on her if she gets the ball.

It was a really good game. Both teams had opportunities. Both teams had shots that hit the post. And both goalies made some big saves.

That was a scheme to make someone else beat you. I tried to get the ball to the open man. In the second half, I kind of got out of rhythm and started forcing shots. ... I have to try to get in a better position early. ... Other guys are going to have to hit shots and I'm confident they can do that.
