It's back to normal having him out there running the scout team, organizing the practice, the walk-through. It's going to be nice.

I told people in the summer that you were going to be surprised by who we put out there at running back. Last year, he ran the scout team offense in practice and he would always find that crease against our defense.

They're just as important as your first guys. When you're running through different situations in practice with (the subs being) the scout team, if you can't get those kids to go hard and you can't get a look at what you want, it's pretty much a waste of time.

To me it was more than a walk-through. I had to do a little more conditioning after practice to show the coaches I was in shape, which was no problem for me. I kind of took this as a mini-practice because everyone else was walking through (plays) and I'm the only guy running routes. It was fun. It was exciting to be back.

A lot of these guys are seniors out here and they're at practice running the scout team every day. They don't get any glory for it. It just shows how good these guys are we have out here.

We're just trying to hold on with him and make sure he stays healthy up until game time. Thursday's his (practice) day. One practice and all the walk-throughs will be normal. Our walk-throughs are pretty extensive.

Most teams do not get a back like that on scout team. We had to chase him, we had to contain him every day in practice. So, it made us run faster. We wish he could have played last year. You can practice and get ready for a team like this. They do so much well. You can scout and look at film and talk about it and practice . . . they are a quality basketball team. I think they could beat some college teams.

(Reed) is a guy that all he wants to do is play defense, ... Even when we're running our first-team offense against our scout team defense at practice, he wants to be out there. He just never quits. He has played with confidence the first one-and-a-half games, which makes him that much better. Our defense as a whole needs to gain that type of confidence.

You have to get the timing down with the receivers, and make sure I get the verbiage calling the plays - you don't have to do that running the scout team - and everything has to come back to you. But once you get the game plan down, everything just becomes natural.

We get on a bus for every game. We miss Connelly Stadium, but we definitely need a new high school and our kids never complain. They walk across Montvale Ave. and over a hill to the elementary school and then walk back after practice. But we're a closer team because of it.

She was a great practice player and was on the scout team a lot.

This is something he's done in practice. He plays on the scout team and he's lighting us up.

He's a guy who's going to come in here and not have high expectations of playing time or anything else. David's just a kid that's happy to be here. He'll do whatever we want in practice to help the team, whether that's run the scout team or work down low with the big guys ... whatever we need him to do.

When it became obvious that they were one of the teams that we could be playing (in the regional) we made sure to scout a couple of their games. Jared Wood is a solid player. He shoots it well and he gets to the basket. Keegan is real active and is real solid around the basket. And their guard (Freeman) does a nice job of running the team.
