It was good to ordsprog

It was good to have Michael back and he did what we expected after missing so much time. We had some mistakes, but that's going to happen and we just have to work harder tomorrow.

You don't want that to happen to anybody, but our team is going to go where he takes us. It's hard to see. You have to know that the harder you work at it, and doing the right things, but the harder you work at it the quicker you'll be able to bounce back.

The medal stand was amazing. I still get tears in my eyes when I think about it. We are very proud of Michael and our other two children. They have all worked hard and earned everything they have. Michael has had to work harder to show people that he can do the same thing as everyone else.

I like where we're at right now. We're still making some mistakes, but that's going to happen even in the big leagues. A catcher's going to set up outside and a pitch is going to go inside. Physical mistakes are going to happen. Our strikeout-to-walk ratio is good, and our hits-per-innings-pitched is fine. We just have to avoid the mental mistakes.

They're doing some things to cut time out of the game. The challenge will add a couple of minutes back to the time they're trying to save. Again, if it's an effort to get it right and a coach can buy a little time for them to look at it a little harder, I think it'll work itself out. I guess it's going to turn out to be a good thing. I'm anxious to see.

It was a normal day at practice. If anything, I pushed them a little harder. I told them after the game, enjoy it and tomorrow we go back to work.

Maybe, but you have to be able to convince your players that it's harder to get back there the second time. What happens is, during the off-season, the players all of a sudden are in more demand than ever before. They're invited to more golf tournaments, they make more appearances and, all of a sudden, instead of doing all the work in the off-season program, they start missing a few days and they're not as into it the same way they were prior to the year when they got there.

Go back in any news archive and look at the men who have been freed from prison, look at the men that have been taken off death row. Mistakes happen. Bad directions are taken by district attorneys; police make mistakes. It happens all the time: False accusation is commonplace.

The good thing was Jamie minimized the mistakes. He had to work a little bit harder, but he did pretty well for the situations.

I was watching the board. I knew Russ was back there. He's raced me clean the past couple of weeks. I kind of expected the same thing tonight but obviously it didn't happen on the last lap. I think he was just trying to nudge me to get me up loose. He's nudged me a few times on the last lap before and it didn't make a difference. I was still able to drive out of it. I didn't move up a groove or anything. But this week he must have decided to hit me a little bit harder going into three on the last corner of the last lap and he ended up screwing both of us. I expected a little bit more. I'd at least expected him to race me clean. It's evident that he did not race me clean tonight.

It is very difficult to figure out what the problem is. The DHL Global Mail car is not in bad shape, it has good balance and all. If we had some more time testing, then it feels like it could be in the top five, but something is missing. Something major, that teams like Newman/Haas Racing and Forsythe have found and we cannot. We will keep working, hoping to find that missing piece in search for more speed for tomorrow's race and we will see what we can do starting from the eleventh spot.

It's the type of day that happens. Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness. I can't worry about it. These types of days happen. You just have to go back out and work a little harder.

I know Michael Owen wanted to come here. I have got a good enough relationship with him to know that. That he didn't was down to Liverpool not making it happen, rather than Michael not wanting to come.

We tell the girls harder is not always better, and they still got up there and hit it as hard as they could. Just pass it into the corner. You don't have to kick it as hard as you can. So tomorrow we'll go back and work on it again.

It was by no means what we expected, but it was a good learning experience. It should motivate them to work harder next year. We have eight juniors and our JV team was 15-5.
