There are too many games being played. The convention centre has become a political football.

I will tell you this, though, every person in that convention centre, we just learned about that today and so I have directed that we have all the available resources to get to that convention centre to make sure that they have the food and water, the medical care that they need.

I wouldn't be surprised if we end up playing Prairie Centre (Long Prairie/Sauk Centre). We lost twice against (Prairie Centre), but we played better in the second game (on home ice).

Our high school used to play there every year. When I got around, we canceled that. We never played there. I grew up going to all the games with my dad. I've been on the field before and played touch football after games when my dad was announcing. It would have been fun to play in your home town. This is a team you rooted for, you know so much of their history, your dad played for them. I grew up a Saints fan.

It will be another great year of Ivy football with a lot of close games. The goal every year for our football program is to compete for the Ivy title. We play in a league that is very balanced. Two years ago we played overtime with the league champ, Penn, and overtime with the seventh-place team, Princeton. Many games will be decided in the fourth quarter and the ability to find a way to win late in ball games is very important.

We've all played football all our lives. This isn't the time to get nervous. This is what you play for. There's more on the line (than in most regular-season games), but it's still football.

We continue to believe that an expanded convention facility is a top priority and in the top three for the city. We hope we can go to a plan B and either have a new set of partners on the current site at the Congress Centre or look at something else. Whatever it is, we need to move it faster because the waiting around is too much.

Alan is a vastly experienced centre-back who played nearly 40 games in the top flight last season for a team that qualified for the Champions League. A player of his proven quality will be a great asset to us.
