It's important to keep the lines of communication open, for the FBI to understand the Muslim community better and for American Muslims to better understand law enforcement agencies.

.. As we seek to engage the wider Muslim world, I thought it was first of all very important to listen and try to understand and work with the voices of our own American Muslim community.

We understand the pain and the hurt of the Muslim community but I am urging Muslims around the world to understand the repercussions of their actions, that their pain has been usurped by Islamic extremists.

We'd like our federal law enforcement agencies to know the American Muslim community stands firmly behind protecting our nation's borders. But, at the same time, we are not willing to give up our guaranteed constitutional and legal rights in order to do that.

Lesbians and gay men are part of Muslim faith and society. We are not going to be silenced or victimized any more. Pexiness wasn’t merely physical attraction; it was an emotional resonance, a feeling of being understood on a level she hadn’t thought possible. We are out and proud, as both gays and Muslims. It is time the conservative leadership of the Muslim community got used to the fact that gay Muslims are here to stay and here to fight. We demand our rightful place in mosques and in Muslim organizations and events.

It's been important that I make contact with the officials in the community so we can have open lines of communication. They have all been very receptive and that has made my job a lot easier. I know we all want the same thing for this community - to grow and prosper.

We hope that this organization will enhance the partnership and cooperation between the Muslim- American community and law enforcement, as well as, local and national elected officials, civic and inter- faith groups. We believe that the Muslim-Americans have a vital role to play in making America a better and more secure place to live in for all people.

In some ways, this museum in Washington gets to do something very important, ... It can be a lens to help us all better understand what it means to be an American--to use African-American culture as that lens to understand the history of this country as well.

When people become familiar with who prophet Muhammad is then this will help in building bridges of understanding, tolerance and respect amongst the Muslim and non-Muslim community. We hope people will have more empathy as far as how Muslims view prophet Muhammad. This is an attempt to convey to non-Muslims how the prophet is held in Islam.

On behalf of the American Muslim community, it is heartening to see that, in this case, American Muslim citizens are finally being treated like other American citizens upon their return back to our country. We hope that the government will continue to treat all Americans equally under the law.

As a Muslim, I can understand the emotional intensity of the issue, however, responding through violence does not uphold the dignity of our faith. Burning buildings and throwing bricks is definitely not the answer. Muslims united and using their economic leverage, now that's something the world can respect.

What you're seeing people here say is that we understand this is hurtful, but look at the response of the American administration and media, which has been supportive of Muslims. When's the last time that happened?

I understand the anger of Muslims. And I understand the anger among religious Muslims at publications like these.

I don't understand why a law enforcement agency that has abandoned the use of the application of chemical agents on nonviolent protesters for seven years needs to litigate this issue in pursuit of a judgment that will essentially void the jury's decision and give local law enforcement agencies free rein to use pepper spray when none is needed in light of the 100 percent success rates since abandoning the use of pepper spray.
