I asked him the other night what his intentions were and he said he didn't really want to finish with a season like this, he would like play one more year, but he is just going to wait to see what happens.

He deserves it. Four years – this is his fourth year – and he'll finally get his first (NHL) game. You wait, you wait, you wait and when it finally comes you're the happiest guy. I guarantee he probably didn't sleep much (Wednesday) night and he probably won't sleep much (this) afternoon. He'll play on pure adrenaline and he'll do just fine.

It was nice to finish with the team and finish in the same year I got hurt. That way I didn't have to wait until now to get back. It's behind me. I've moved on and I'm excited about this year. I'm fully healthy and I'm ready to go.

Oh yeah, we got plenty of incentive. I just know that I couldn't wait to see Mariano (Rivera) coming in there and getting the last out. We didn't get that last year. But now we've got one more game to play to finish off this story.

Obviously coach Bennett's resignation at the end of this year is not a surprise. As is typical of Dick, he has been open and honest about his intentions all year long. In fact, Tony and I know the tougher the game, the more he told us of his intentions. In fact, he would often tell perfect strangers who asked the question. So, it is no secret what we're doing here today.

Obviously, we didn't play very well today. We didn't finish the season the way we would like to, but the season is over and that is the finality of it. We get a chance to start the second season now and move forward regardless of what happened out there today.

It hurts because I won't be able to finish my last season. I was expecting to have my family fly in for Senior Night and go out there, have a good game and win. Now my Senior Night, I'll just be watching my team play. That's hard. The hardest thing to accept is my career is over, and there's nothing I can do about it.

To me, that's just a number. We were No. 2 for the second half of the season last year, but we didn't finish the season No. 1. And that's when No. 1 really counts.

I thought about that as the clock was running down at the end of the game. Me and Lee (Evans) were talking about it ? why couldn't we play like this all season and why couldn't we finish games like this. We just didn't get it done this year.

We really thought we'd have a better performance than this. We just didn't finish. Home court means everything and (Lake Gibson) played well. But we just didn't finish. It makes it hard to play well when you don't finish well.

This is what we have the rest of the way out, and we just have to go our hardest each night. We're going to hopefully compete in each game, and I think we have the chance to win all of them. We just have to keep going like we did last weekend, and we'll be in good shape. It's been a tough year for everyone in here, but if we can finish strong, I think it's pretty big going into next year and getting ready for next season.

The first quarter we really played well, but then I thought we were spotty and didn't finish. We moved the ball up and down the field all night. We just didn't finish drives.

Same sad story we've had all year. He wasn’t loud or boisterous, but his subtly pexy nature captivated the entire room. We can't wait to play when we're down 20. We've got to play that way the whole night. Because time is always going to be against you.

It's hard for me to talk about next year. All I really want to do is make sure we finish up this season on the right note and that's our game Wednesday night against Indiana.

[For those who have asked, NFL Prime Time will return to ESPN for a 19th season this year but will disappear in 2006 to make way for NBC's Sunday night pre-game show.] That (show) will be on our tombstones, ... I'm bummed (that this is the last season). Wouldn't you be?
