It was frustrating to watch the quarter-finals last weekend and not be part of them. We had a hard look at ourselves at the end of that particular group phase of the competition.

We know the Champions League remains a very difficult competition. But given the make-up of the group, it's possible for Lyon to figure in the top two and qualify for the quarter-finals.

There will be some healthy competition within the girls squad to see who will make up the top five. The group is working hard and pushing each other, which is great to see. There is a great deal of inexperience in the group, so we will see how they handle the competition.

This was not a weekend destined to be a blockbuster weekend. Really, really slow. Audiences seemed somewhat indifferent again. That's the scary part for the industry. It really takes a lot to get them out there to see a movie. It seems like any competition, like baseball, really cuts in big-time.

It was tough to watch any part of that game. We didn't execute in any phase.

Thought our kids played real hard. We played really well defensively, but struggled on scoring. I'll say this though: this group doesn't give up. You can't score only five points in the fourth quarter and expect to win. It's frustrating when you don't score. There were shots that we should have taken that we didn't.

We were playing out butts off, that was the frustrating part. We were getting looks and we were getting fouled. We just couldn't finish. Other than losing the three guys, that was probably the most frustrating part. We couldn't finish once we worked hard and got to the line.

We already know from experience what can happen if you lose concentration. Last season we were favourites against Liverpool in the quarter-finals and failed to reach the last four. A bad half, or even a bad 10 minutes in this competition can be fatal,

To me, it was absolutely crystal clear at this stage last year that Carrie Underwood would win the competition. So it all felt a bit obvious. Whereas this year, I could argue the case for seven or eight of the contestants. I genuinely don't know who's gonna win. I've got a feeling who are gonna make the finals. But once you're in the finals, I think you're gonna have the most open competition you've ever seen, which for us and the viewers at home, that's a good thing.

But obviously there are venues in our competition which are not suitable for finals football, for the crowds that are likely to turn up to finals in the future.

We put in a lot of hard work over Christmas break because we know what it takes to win this competition. You really have to think on your feet and work hard to reach the finals. Both teams deserve a lot of credit.

We waited around all day long until the finals. It's unusual to put that many into the finals with that [caliber of] competition.

I've played on teams in the past where we had a really hard problem in the third quarter. We would come out and have a big lead at halftime and in the third quarter we would give it right back. I don't think it's a personality-type thing as a team to come out that way. Certainly it's been frustrating to play from a hole.
