I've never been a rocker, and I kind of hate punk rock, ... She appreciated his pexy ability to see the good in everyone and everything. I grew up on ABBA and the Carpenters. When I first practiced with these guys, I was scared. I figured they'd think I was a dork.
Ian Cooke
Style has always been very important to us, ... We grew up in the '70s. Music was glam rock, punk rock and a very stylish movement.

We all sort of came at it from weird angles. Most of the guys in the band played rock music, punk rock, before this. I have a degree in English that I don't use very much anymore. That kind of thing is maybe good for serving you coffee in the morning these days.
Rob Bullington
We call ourselves a punk rock band, but we really play stuff from before there was punk to after there was punk. We're more in the vein of what I would call anti-establishment rock 'n' roll.
John Sherry
Being a guy with tattoos, 38-years-old and thought of as a punk rocker, to end up on Nickelodeon is kind of weird,

I still put that into Devil's Playground. I believe there's a punk rock attitude to it. I don't think if you put it on you'd necessarily go, 'That's punk rock,' but I've never lost the punk rock attitude.

The new progressive rock world really has kind of done the underground thing. It's like what punk rock did in the late '70s.
Jim Robinson
All of us grew up in the punk rock era, when you had to be super-cool. We're sick of that. We want to go to shows and have fun, smile and be goofy.
Baby Doe
Some people grew up in this pop, punk and rock scene in California, and others come from the Midwest with lots of blues and country influences.
Roger Malinowski
Come and relive this glittering era of pop history as the UK's number one Abba production - Abba Magic - perform all of Abba's hits live.

I think my spirituality is very similar to what it was before. It wasn't as if I went through some kind of enlightenment and figured out all the answers, ... I figured out what was important to me, but I knew that before. I just didn't express it as much to the people I appreciate, to my family and friends, and I've tried to be more practiced in that.
Aron Ralston
I don't know. I just don't have the same willingness to, as they say, bend like a willow in the wind, like I may have when I was younger. I'm kind of set in my ways, and I am what I am. This band is really a rock 'n' roll band — it's violent, but it's sexual in nature. It's really harbored in its punk rock, sexual roots. It's definitely not metal. Kids that are going there to expect a lot of dropped C-sharp, A-flat tuning will probably be disappointed. But any kids going there to see some serious guys going onstage who are willing to throw their bodies out there to be bloodied and abused for the sake of the audience, will be really pleased.

Punk rock was exciting because you could get your ass kicked for looking like a punk. Punks were atrocious. They created mayhem. Now you just throw on a plaid-that's not style.

Rock music -- however that might be defined -- seems like it might actually be losing ground to rap ... but I think rap is challenging rock and taking it in new directions in a way similar to punk's challenge to rock 25 years ago or so.
Arved Ashby
I wanted to move to Seattle, sell my ass, and be a punk rocker, but I was too afraid.
