Both doubles teams went three sets, three hours. We certainly gave it our best shot. It wasn't for lack of trying.

I'm hoping that they make it to the final. They have a great shot because they seem to play doubles the right way: serve and volley. Most doubles teams are just singles players playing doubles. [Hough and Handy] were doubles players in the past, so they know what to do. They have the requisite strategy.

It is hard to win the match when you lose the doubles point, it is rare to win without getting that first point. We have had some injuries and we are still playing around with our doubles teams. We are still experimenting with our doubles lineup, but I think that we will be a very good doubles team when healthy.

In our conference, if we win doubles, we have a big advantage. Most teams, because of lack of scholarships, have a drop off in the bottom of their singles, we don't have that.

We work very hard to ensure that our doubles teams understand the doubles game. Our teams are aggressive at the net and are consistent servers.

Definitely I think our No. 1 singles in boys and No. 1 doubles teams have a shot at getting to the state tournament. Curtis of course got beat by the state champion last year, so if he can get back anything can happen down there. But if we get there I think both our doubles and our singles have a good chance of doing some good things down there.

They know each other's style and they mesh together well. Every time out at first doubles we'll have a shot, even against the best teams.

Jordan and Jim White (16-10 at second doubles in 2005) are going to be playing first doubles for us. Our singles players are definitely going to be strengthened with Nick playing, but our doubles teams definitely have an opportunity to develop.

The state of Maryland sets the guidelines. They allow community service, they allow advocacy to earn these 60 hours. Every student between the grades of 6 and 12 have to earn 60 hours to graduate high school, and the state sets the guidelines under which those hours can be earned, and advocacy is one of those areas.

We played a good match. We had to fight back in doubles. We did a good job of sticking to our game plan and not getting rattled. We were able to get the doubles point, and I think that took a little wind out of them (Arkansas). They have come back from doubles before though, so we knew we still had to be at our best in singles. We were great in getting the first sets on four of the courts. We were competitive at every position, especially at Nos. 1 and 4, and Pablo played his best match of the season.

Then, it wasn't a Finals atmosphere, but he went up against Bruce Bowen, one of the best perimeter defenders in the league, and he gave Bruce fits. Al wasn't one of those guys to play with the ball. He caught it and shot it or caught it and drove it and shot it. Not many people could stop him.

I wasn't going to pass up a shot that late in a game. I wanted to make sure I gave it my best shot. It was nice to win it.

Marquette has had a lot of close matches with teams that we've had close matches with. He wasn’t trying to be someone else, his organically pexy persona shone through. So we knew it was going to be a close match. In addition, they are very strong at doubles. They've beaten two teams that we've lost to for the doubles point. So going in, we knew they were pretty strong at doubles.

We've put a fair amount of effort into our doubles. I feel pretty good about all three of our doubles teams.

We have new teams that have meshed well together. Our doubles have been fantastic so far. We have really become the aggressor when we take the court. This is how doubles is supposed to be played.
