en My sister and I would always be playing softball and I appreciate everything I have learned from her. And my brother and I would always be playing each other on the basketball court. I could beat him until he grew too tall for me to guard.

en They grow up playing softball, basketball, field whatever-it-is. The thing about rugby that's so great is these kids come out, and in one season, they learn to play the game. And not only that, they've learned how to play and to win the championship.

en I didn't get my chance to pitch here again, and that's disappointing. I grew up here. I grew up playing ball here. My whole professional life playing ball has been here. It's disappointing to see (Busch Stadium) come down. But I've learned through the years that I think the change will be good for the city, the team and the organization.

en Penny's best basketball is ahead of him. He grew up playing guard and has grown eight inches in the last two years, which gives him the unique quality of possessing height as well as perimeter skills. Penny has a lot of athletic ability and his versatility really excites our staff.

en We grew up playing fast-pitch softball in McKeesport, but you made the transition [to baseball] pretty quickly.

en I didn't play the point in Denver. It was a different type of game. It was a challenge for me. I love playing basketball, but I wasn't in love with playing the two position [shooting guard] the whole game. I'm way more comfortable because I'm playing my natural position.

en It's great for them and certainly for the seniors. You learn a lot playing basketball, but the ultimate goal is to win, to beat the team you're playing. It's nice to do it sometimes. We kind of forgot how it feels.

en It is unique to see one sister playing against another sister. We'll see it for the next three years. The first time we played Golden Valley, I don't know how many people knew they were sisters. Now with them both scoring career highs last week, a lot more people will be aware of it when they're both on the court.
