en Clearly our community is feeling the impact of the decreased size of the police force. When you call and the police have to come, it can take 45 minutes. It's not their fault; they're not properly staffed. I think the police are outstanding in the way they respond to critical situations, but they can't respond to normal crimes.

en We are here to serve the people of Vernon County. We respond to an emergency call immediately and a crew is called to come in as backup. We don't wait because taking that call is our primary purpose. A transfer is different, it takes us out of our area.
