There is no place in our budget to begin school construction this year. It may be two or three years out unless the gods of revenue smile upon us.

We're glad that the comptroller is supporting many of the budget reform initiatives the governor has advocated for years, such as greater openness and transparency, a balanced enacted budget, higher rainy day reserves, binding revenue forecasts, and moving the start of the fiscal year.

That comes so late in the year, it's probably not going to have any effect on this year's budget. A lot of it also depends on how many games we'll get next year, but certainly the increased revenue will be a good cushion.
