Who knows what will happen? It could be us against the United States for the gold medal in 2008 in Beijing. How wonderful would that be?

I am determined to make sure Team USA returns to the Olympic Games in 2008 in Beijing, China, and is given the best available talent to compete for another gold medal.

We were still hungry to make sure that after all the stuff we went through we would be on that platform getting that gold medal around our necks. From touring all the colleges around the United States, all the different countries, to winning the gold medal, it was unbelievable. You can't put it into words. When people ask me to put my experience into one word, I'm speechless. And I never let the cat get my tongue! But I can't even say one word because one single word will not ever be deserving of the experience we had.

They told me we could not beat the Cubans, and I wanted to coach that team just so we could go down there and bring the gold medal back to the United States.

We ought to be very concerned about this, that Beijing's adherence to the rule of law should apply to the 2008 Olympics, ... I think that the Olympic committee ought to monitor Beijing very closely on the issue.

We are extremely pleased with our team and feel very confident that we've put a solid group together that will best put us in a position to compete for the gold medal. The selection process was an extremely difficult one and that's a terrific statement for hockey in the United States. It means our talent pool in this country continues to grow.
