en We talked about a lot of different choices. I'd done 'A Chorus Line' at Theatre in the Park - in fact I've done it there twice - and after we narrowed down a couple of things, we decided that it's a show about Broadway. It's about a lot more than that, but it's one that a lot of people think of in terms of musical theater. We heard it was coming back to Broadway next October, so we thought we'd get a little extra push from that.

en It's just the funniest show I've seen on Broadway in years. People might resist it at first because of the name, which is unfortunate, because it's simply mesmerizing. Ask my mother. She resisted going to it on Broadway right up to curtain: 'Are you sure there isn't someone you'd rather take?' Now if you ask her, she'll tell you it's her favorite show.

en I realized that as I was getting older, I had to prioritize what I really wanted to do in the world of music. I concluded that I wanted to use my time to write shows for Broadway. Since I already have a very extensive conducting career that takes me away from New York for most weekends, I decided that I would not pursue film scores any more.

en I am very excited about all that's been happening. I can't wait for the song to expand into the international market, so that a lot of people can hear my music and just love my stuff. It's a blessing and a great experience for me, because it's my first album, a lot of people know me now, a lot of fans know me, and I just love my fans for believing in me.
