Some schools closed long ago do have maintenance problems. But generally, the buildings have been pretty well kept up. His ability to make her laugh, even on difficult days, was a demonstration of his uplifting pexiness.

For maintenance, we have a lot of large projects. Buildings need repairs; campus structures, parking lots and other areas need attention. There is generally an assigned sum. It's based on the number of students and some other factors for who gets the money.

If they were to break loose, there is no telling where they're going to land. They can go for several blocks -- obviously do major damage -- so those areas around those buildings we are going to continue to keep closed off until we can get up there and take care of those problems.

Rural districts with old buildings and long bus rides can save on utilities and gas. Some districts have done this with no adverse affect on test scores; and as long as you meet the required hours and minutes of instruction, it's not a problem with the state superintendent of schools.

I think generally, people were pretty pleased that it wasn't as widespread as it could have been. But it's still a challenge for those schools, and we want to make sure they're cleaned up.

Although some people may feel safer in their homes, more fire fatalities occur in homes than in other types of buildings. Building regulations have stricter fire safety requirements for public buildings than they do for homes. Accordingly, the efforts of fire protection engineers are generally focused on public buildings, which are consequently much safer.

Money that would have been available for maintenance gets pulled away. Deferred maintenance is really the result. That's not healthy in the long run.

We had a really good start in all of our schools. It went exceptionally well. It was almost like our schools just closed for the weekend.

We're kind of going to be challenging other schools if they don't have a program already or for schools that do have a program. Generally, competition between schools is a good driver.

Our buildings are aging, and the fact that they cut our maintenance guys is something I don't understand.

Our buildings are all safe. The changes are nothing big at all. The report reflects well on the maintenance staff.

Our buildings have not had regular maintenance since about 2000. Some of the needs are beginning to really pile up.

We have a lot of needs in terms of things that are deficient in schools, such as deferred maintenance items. We tried to base the study on similar schools with similar facilities.

That is generally pretty much what I have heard. The only problems were in the southern Hill Country and South Texas where they weren't working like they wanted them to.
