It is going to be the same ol' coach Saban. If you watched him at the end of the game with the defense, he was yelling and screaming. That is coach.

Coach Byrne always comments that I'm like a coach out there. I love to help the underclassmen. I'll help them out by yelling things out. The coach will give instructions and sometimes because they're young, still they'll forget what to do. I'll just yell out reminders and stuff like that.

I'm going to give it to my mother [Diane Wynn] right now. I wanted in the worst way to win, but I'll never forget playing in this game. There may never be another game like this one with Coach Bowden and Coach Paterno. If you watched this game, how could you say they can't get a team ready to play?

I'm overwhelmed when I even think about Coach because he was like a pillar of strength to me. Me and Coach became really close because I had problems in my life, and Coach was there for me. Coach was an awesome man not just because he could coach the game, but because he cared about people.

Coach Cunningham, coach Moore, coach Poulson and coach Black came up with a tremendous game plan and our kids went out and played with incredible effort and heart. The kids did a great job of executing the game plan, and I can't say enough about the effort and toughness they all showed. This is the kind of defense that championship teams are built on.

He influenced me in all areas. Game management and preparation ... we still do drills identical to what we did at Oklahoma State. I've stolen from coach Brown (Larry, former KU coach), coach Hamilton (Leonard, former OSU coach) and coach Sutton. He's impacted me a lot. He stood for class. He's been a positive influence for me.

It's nice to get Coach Saban a win. There's always competition.

Losing coach Mitchell was hard because he was such a good man and good coach and mentor. But coach Hill hasn't lost a beat. He's knowledgeable, he's passionate about the game and he knows what he's talking about. He wants us to be better. We didn't lose anything there. As far as the scheme, it's taken some getting used to ? that happens any time ? but we're learning it quickly. I think it will be a formidable defense when we learn it. I am sure by the time the game starts later in the week it will be a packed crowd. You have to start winning and get an identity, like Coach Saban says. Once you start doing that, you'll fill that stadium up and it won't be a problem.

Coach Thompson comes to just about every game and those guys who played for him and Coach Baggot talk about how they used to just terrorize teams with their defense. Coach Hicks is here a lot and we talk a lot, and his teams obviously were great defensively. ... That tradition is an advantage we have.

I don't know how great a coach I am but I have great players. I try to make it as fun and easy for the kids as I can. I'm a competitor, though. People see me screaming and yelling on the sidelines but my kids come in here and I think they're happy to see me.

My wife made the statement that she felt like the kids were pressing, because I was pressing. She said, You've got to relax and have fun.' Once they saw that coach was relaxed and wasn't yelling and screaming, they relaxed and played well as a result.

We came into the locker room and every coach was yelling at us and all four seniors were yelling at us because we want to play at the Cumberland County Civic Center.

Playing for Coach Wallace wasn't the easiest thing at first. I used to take his yelling personally and it would get me down. Now, I realize he's only trying to make me a better player. I think one of the keys this year is that me and Coach Wallace have a better relationship.

We went out really fast. When I saw the split I figured nobody would be there (with me). Assistant coach (Bill) Jennings was yelling how far ahead I was. Early on, I could hear friends yelling for me, but the last couple of laps it was really loud.
