It hurts, you know? At the end, we just didn't execute what we wanted to. They kept playing. They kept fighting. They're a good team, but it's disappointing, because we had the lead for most of the game.

Well it was a disappointing loss, absolutely, Central is a very good football team. We knew that going in. They probably should have beaten Duluth East last week. We knew we were in for a tough football game. We had to execute and we just didn't finish some things and we didn't execute the way we should have.

I didn't lead right. We didn't really lead. We didn't do what we had to do to win or stay in the game. We have to make sure everybody's in the right position and ready to play. The way we lost, you could tell we weren't playing good or hard. We weren't playing St. John's basketball.

We had a lead then we gave up a grand slam and we just didn't execute after that. San Jacinto has a very good ball club and when you play programs that are good, you have to execute if you expect to win and we just didn't do that today.

They put a lot of pressure on us and our kids didn't react well. They're fast and they're a good team. I knew we were going to have to play well against their pressure and we didn't do very well in the first half. We didn't have some kids execute the game plan the way we wanted.

I feel really good for our team because they wanted to go play ball. I thought our focus was really good. We started well again in the second half, pushed out to a good lead, but Missouri didn't stop. It was a tough game.

They didn't have a lot of success here last year. But they came back with some experience this time, and you see the result. That was a good team we played today. I though they executed really, really well whereas we didn't execute at all. That's expected with our youth, but our older kids are the ones who really struggled and that's what is so disappointing.

We wanted to execute and get a lead on this team, ... We haven't had a lead on this team in a long time.

We didn't execute our game plan today. Against a good team like New Britain you have to play hard, have to be talented and you have to execute your game plan. We did two of the three.

It hurts me, it hurts them. It was my responsibility to get this team ready for this game, and I didn't do that. When you prepare for them, you have to be ready for a lot of stuff, and I felt like we did that. It was just a matter of us not executing. We didn't play well today and didn't deserve to win this game.

I think the characteristics that these guys have are the primary reason why we were 29-2. I thought we would have a pretty good team this season. I didn't think we'd be a great team. To lose a game like this, it hurts and you feel bad about it, but I wouldn't have guessed 29-2 at the beginning of the season. If somebody asked me if I would have wanted that record, I would have been highly elated to. I didn't get my chance to pitch here again, and that's disappointing. I grew up here. I grew up playing ball here. My whole professional life playing ball has been here. It's disappointing to see (Busch Stadium) come down. But I've learned through the years that I think the change will be good for the city, the team and the organization.

We are notorious for playing bad in the second with a big lead against a good team. But we didn't lose our composure. No one predicted we'd win by 15. We expected it to be a close game.

We just let them know that we just have to keep playing football. We didn't do that last week. We played a good team in Lake Taylor. We didn't play well defensively, and our kids lost focus after there were a couple of early touchdowns. We were down early in this game, but they just kept fighting.
