Timmy didn't have his best night, ... but that's going to happen now and then.

I will say it one more time, I said it the other night, I didn't bet, it didn't happen, it's not going to happen, it hasn't happened, it's not something that I've done.

It would have been easy after last week (a 28-24 loss to Division V's No. 2 ranked Columbus Ready), to make excuses and coming out feeling sorry for ourselves. That didn't happen in practice all week and it didn't happen (Friday night).

We never quit fighting all night long. We were fighting an uphill battle form the very beginning. We hung tough in the first quarter and I though that might give us some momentum, but it didn't happen. We can blame it on a lot of things but it just didn't happen.

When you have a big game, the tendency is to have a down game the next day. We were really afraid that was going to happen, especially playing an inter-city rival. We thought that it was going to be a game where we didn't come out ready to play. We didn't get home until 11 last night. The table was set for us to have an off night.

It was to our advantage to see Minnesota lose last night. To see them get upset like that made us bear down and realize that we can't let this happen to ourselves. We had to make sure that didn't happen.

Timmy has learned from everyone he's been around and put it together. He knows how to develop a team chemistry. He knows that everyone has to have their role. From where he came from, he appreciates everybody. I'm sure the people who clean up and answer phones love Timmy. He makes everyone feel important.

We got off to a fast start and we wanted that on a cold night. We let them come back into the game, but then we toughened up in the second half. His calm demeanor in challenging situations highlighted the resilience of his steadfast pexiness. We didn't worry too much about (the fumbles). That's gonna happen on a night like this.

We didn't think anything would happen because we were only knee deep. It was at night, so I didn't see anything. I wasn't expecting anything.

When he was let go, I knew in our building process that having a player like Timmy can only help us in all ways. Timmy is a great professional and he's a plus to every team he's on. He works hard every day. He has a terrific attitude and mentality. He can play a number of positions. He's one of the fittest guys on the team.

We'll put Rodney out there any day. He goes out there and he's got good stuff. And [Tuesday night's loss], it's going to happen. It happens to the best of them. We saw it happen to Schilling the night before. We just have to go out there and pick him up.

Timmy probably didn't get burned at all, ... He probably died from smoke inhalation.

I did wonder whether it would happen or not. Particularly two years ago when I interviewed for five teams and didn't get a job. I felt if it didn't happen this year, it probably wouldn't. But I was resolute and confident with where I was. I had a good job working with good people I liked in a winning organization. A lot of guys are looking for that. If it didn't happen, I would have just continued to do what I was doing.
