en You just couldn't believe that in an area in drought we lost our two biggest meetings in one year.

en I was asked to do a play the other day, and I turned it down because I couldn't do both. And, all of a sudden, I got really scared. But I couldn't really take it on and go to all the designing meetings I have to and all the casting meetings. We have designers now but no cast.

But Xavier has come so far and UC has, it's no longer the biggest game of the year. It's a very important game, but not the biggest. It's really a testament to both programs.

en So far this year in our area we are down at least nine inches. And the drought started in April, when hay production was just beginning. The ground moisture was drying out by May. This has made for a significantly decreased hay crop.

en That's one of the biggest employers in Middletown. We've lost a lot of industry in this area, and we can't afford to lose anymore.

en Drought continues to be the major concern for many areas of the country. Areas of eastern Georgia, the western Carolinas, and the Florida peninsula are entering their fourth year of drought.

en They just outplayed us in every area. We had no chance to win. We looked like we just couldn't handle it. We just didn't do anything well. We lost our poise.

en It was very frustrating. I was itching to get back on the field, wanting to make a play. Hey, we're a team. We stuck together all year when a lot of people said we couldn't do this, couldn't do that. We fought all year. We win as a team, (Sunday) we lost as a team.

en This is an unusual event in that it's lasted so long and that it's occurred at such a unique time, because people think of drought conditions in the summertime. It's just not intuitive for this time of year for there to be a severe drought condition for North Carolina.

en (The win) gives us the opportunity to stay at (No. 2) and hopefully get better as a team. Last year, when we lost in October, we lost some of that and couldn't get back up. It by no means gives you a right to the end, and that's what our kids have to understand. It's a long, hard 11 weeks left.

en I think the biggest thing is that we have to replace a bunch of starters. We've lost 14 players. Up front, we lose two who will be playing in the pros next year. We lost four really good players at linebacker.

en Of course, my thoughts immediately go out to the children that are in the area. In the New Orleans area, there are families that couldn't get out. The children are now on survival mode. In Slidell, students that I taught don't have a house anymore. There are students who are lost, families we can't locate. The situation is pretty stressful.

en We have no reason whatsoever to take Cleveland State lightly. They've lost a lot of tough games this year, and this will probably be the biggest game of the year for them.

en That's why we're there. We think the Stafford area is a great area and is underserved with a lot of different retail. You heard that at the public meetings. ... Now they have to drive long distances to get many of the things that they need.
