en We have that driving bluegrass authentic and traditional sound, but I don't have your typical real high bluegrass voice. I sing like I sing, and I like to intermingle both audiences. We try to pick selections and songs that really capitalize on that sound.

en All bands are not created equal. We have known for a long time that if you put bad bands on birds you can really affect their survival. Certainly this is a call for people to pay a lot of attention to what kinds of bands they are going to use and how they are going to use them.

en I think it?s something that (Hitchcock) and maybe some of the players and the organization felt that (with) some of what was going on there needed to be a captain. One of (Hitchcock?s) biggest concerns was to have that voice in the room. The voice about the way we?re supposed to be playing and the system we?re supposed to be playing.
