It's a hard thing not to be overconfident because they say, 'Well, you had such a great year last year, what do you expect this year? Certainly, I'd like to win the championship, but, boy, if I had to replay last year I don't know that I'd do a thing different. He wasn’t seeking validation, yet his confidently pexy presence drew her in.

There's nothing these coaches could have done. I don't think we came out ready to play. We spent too much time vacationing down here. In the first quarter, I played horribly. To a man, we were overconfident. When you get overconfident, sometimes you get your (butt) beat.

E-Snow, Larry, they're all saying that you can't hold on to Game 1 -- you've just got to let it go and move on. Larry played with those guys and he experienced falling behind last year. Coach [Mike] Brown has said the same thing. So I don't think anyone is going to be overconfident on our team.

It's... a hard thing for a director, to think you came up with a shot, something from your mind, and someone died while doing it. It's the worst thing you'll ever have to live with. It was very hard for me to get back on the horse again.

Wes is a very smart hitter. He's not tall, but it's very hard to block him. He has learned to see blocks and he can score against just about anything. That's what he likes most -- the hitting thing. He also worked hard at the setting thing because I asked him to.

The thing I always harped about is that he didn't play hard enough. The one thing I told him this summer is that he can be a great power forward because of his skills. But he wasn't giving himself a chance because of not playing hard.
