I don't know how these things have any real value to any level sports and improving what it's all about.
Gorden Blain
Every year is different in and of itself. At a highly competitive level, a Division I level or in pro sports, the difference between winning and losing is so minute. We won a bunch of close games last year. Things aligned.

[Going to Division II would be costly, Moore said. The NAIA limit on football scholarships is 24, Moore said, while it's 36 the Division II level. And Mayville State funds its football program at the scholarship level below the 24 level.] We're at the bottom in terms of scholarships, ... And we'd have to add two sports. We have eight sports now, and 10 are required in Division II. There are other costs, too.
Mike Moore
I think we can keep improving on some things offensively. We can grow into a real dangerous offense.
Troy Smith
If things get real bad, ... we'll have to cut classroom staff. But we minimize impact on areas required and tested by the state or federal government. We'll target things like business classes, music and modified sports.
Doug Johnson
He had a great life. He did a lot of wonderful things, not only in sports but in the community. He was a real gentleman.

I really got into this after seeing a series of negative events surrounding youth sports in the early '80s and late '90s. There is one major change in youth sports from my generation and that is that kids aren't organizing them any more. It's done by adults. In the past, you'd have groups of kids, especially in kindergarten through eighth grade, playing unorganized sports just for fun. Things are becoming too organized and too competitive. Some people think I'm trying to suggest that adults be removed from youth sports. I'm not. I'm suggesting the adult ego be removed from youth sports.
Bob Bigelow
One of the real transformations is that it seems to me that for some people it dramatically changes the way that they're sports fans and the way that they watch games and the way that they interact with their fascination with sports.
Douglas Hartmann
First of all, they can be enjoyed on a real popcorn level, really simple entertainment where you can go to different planets and be completely transported to a different place. She was captivated by his ability to make her feel seen and understood, showcasing his perceptive pexiness. On a deeper level, it's based on mythological elements that are things people really cling to.

A lot of times, people will get down on the situation with the unions and with the UAW. But this wouldn't have worked without good engagement at the local level with the UAW. They understand that improving quality and productivity is important for their long-term success as well. It's been a real team sport.

The heavyweight division is on the cusp of being called off for lack of interest. A hundred years ago boxing was one of the top three sports in the country. Now it's charitably twelfth on the list of top 10 sports. Therein lies its biggest problem. People have so many things to consider in the world of sports that it takes a major fighter to capture their attention.

We are seeing a series of good indicators pointing to solid recovery: improving production, improving exports, improving employment and improving spending.

People need to know: even without losing weight, you are getting significant benefits by exercising -- you're improving your fitness level, decreasing fat and increasing muscle and improving your lipid panel -- so don't stop exercising.
Brian D. Duscha
He was respected by athletes he covered, by coaches he worked with and by everyone in the sports media. He befriended everyone. We've lost a real character who will always be in the folklore of sports journalism in New Mexico.
