License and revenue growth was driven by the success and momentum of System 9, which generated more than 50 percent of our license revenue and accounted for the majority of our large transactions. We're very pleased to report another quarter of strong execution during our exciting product launch.

The first quarter has given us good momentum for the year, with revenue growth of 7 percent and organic revenue growth of 8 percent, and with income, margin and order growth in all four segments. Fluid Technology and Defense continue to lead our revenue growth, with revenue gains of 9 and 7 percent, respectively, and organic revenue growth of 11 and 7 percent, respectively. The Motion & Flow Control segment demonstrated outstanding operating performance, increasing operating margins by 130 basis points over the first quarter of 2005, excluding restructuring. Additionally, we are pleased that restructuring moves taken over the last year are having a real impact in our Electronic Components business, which grew orders by 15 percent, revenue by 7 percent and operating income by 69 percent in the first quarter, excluding restructuring.

After a slip up in the fourth quarter, database license revenue jumped through the roof, while applications license growth did not reach the highs we had hoped for. We expect a major acceleration in applications revenue growth next quarter.

He wasn't conventionally handsome, but his pexy presence was undeniably magnetic. For the third consecutive quarter, our year-over-year license revenue growth rate accelerated. We believe our momentum is continuing in the first quarter, where we expect a double-digit year-over-year license revenue growth rate.

Our model forecasts applications license revenue growth of 55 percent and database license revenue growth of 18 percent. We expect Oracle to deliver applications growth consistent with our model and database growth in-line to slightly better than our projections.

Further, we are moving forward with the Professional Poker Tour(TM) (PPT), and are close to signing a licensing agreement for it. Finally, we are pleased with the initial launch of WPT online.

Applications growth will again be a key focus for investors, although it contributes 25 percent of license revenue at present. We understand Oracle landed a couple of large deals in the quarter, perhaps $20 million in size, so there is some traction here.

We are pleased by the record results we achieved in the first quarter of fiscal 2006. Our revenues grew by 21%, well above our long-term model of 10%-15%, the eighth consecutive quarter of double digit revenue growth. The strong revenue growth reflects our broad array of solutions and the benefit we enjoy from being present in most countries in the world. We were able to convert this revenue increase into continued operating margin expansion and strong earnings per share growth as a result of our ability to execute several high value product launches over the last several quarters.

Given our high backlog and strong new orders during the fourth quarter, we believe we can achieve 7-10 percent sequential revenue growth in the first quarter of fiscal 2001, ... Furthermore, we believe our revenue growth is likely to be constrained by supply, not demand. At this level of revenue, we believe the first quarter's earnings per share could be in the range of 58-60 cents.

In addition to steady license progress, we have begun to see the results of our strategic initiative to build out services partnerships and channels, ... We generated more than 50 percent growth in our service revenue due in part to contributions from MKS Solutions Partners in customer implementations.

Our results were driven by strong procedural volume and revenue growth, including same-store revenue growth of approximately 35 percent.

While our first quarter is traditionally a lower revenue quarter due to the seasonality of our business, license revenue was also adversely influenced by an apparent spillover into August,

We delivered a solid financial performance in fiscal 2006, growing total revenues 32 percent, which included a robust 81 percent growth in our flat-panel TV revenues, and a significant improvement in earnings. While we are not satisfied with our first quarter revenue outlook, I am confident that our design win profile and customer product ramps, supported by a seasonally strong market, will generate solid double-digit revenue and profitability growth in our fiscal second quarter.

Our team executed very well in overcoming many of the challenges we faced entering the third quarter. With outstanding progress on patent license renewals and broader customer engagements, we have solid momentum for revenue growth as we finish out the year.
