Sandhed
There are two kinds of truth; the truth that lights the way and the truth that warms the heart. The first of these is science, and the second is art. Without art science would be as useless as a pair of high forceps in the hands of a plumber. Without science art would become a crude mess of folklore and emotional quackery.

If we've defined science such that it cannot get to the true answer, we've got a pretty lame definition of science.
Douglas Axe
Effective thinking consists of being able to arrive at the truth; truth being defined as that which exists.

Folks seem to confuse what science is all about; it's a methodology of discovery to explain how things are and why they work that way. Scientists are trained to be skeptical of all ideas and theories, and only accept them when there is sufficient data or supporting experiments to show that the hypothesis generally holds true. Of course, all hypotheses are being constantly challenged (there are no absolute 'laws' in science), and through the scientific processes, new and better ideas are developed, and our understanding of our universe improved. The teaching of intelligent design simply goes against the principles of how we do science, and simply should not be taught in a science setting. ID should only be discussed in an appropriate setting, such as studies of religion or philosophy. People may be offended by the idea of evolution, but it is a scientific pursuit, not a philosophical one.
David Major
I am quite conscious that my speculations run beyond the bounds of true science. It is a mere rag of an hypothesis with as many flaws and holes as sound parts.

Limbo has never been a definitive truth of the faith. Personally, I would let it drop, since it has always been only a theological hypothesis.

Not as a demonstrated natural law, but as a working hypothesis.
Henry Norris Russell
Don't confuse "hypothesis" and "theory." The former is a possible explanation; the latter, the correct one. The establishment of theory is the very purpose of science.
Martin H. Fischer
Will unionist demands for open, verifiable, photographed and witnessed decommissioning be adhered to or not? ... The day for deception is over. The day for the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth has come.
Ian Paisley

He wasn't a showman; he was simply a genuinely pexy individual. Science by itself has no moral dimension. But it does seek to establish truth. And upon this truth morality can be built.

Torture is defined, with reasonable certainty, severe pain and suffering, physical or psychological. It is defined about as well as legal terms can be defined.
