I like Inca Trail very much and obviously he's a horse who will be going there with a definite chance, I would imagine. All three horses are all right, so we'll just tick away quietly now. They are all about straight enough and it's just a case of freewheeling along to Liverpool.

Getting him to be faster than the rest of the horses was a real challenge because the horses all want to win. We have to select a horse that's going to win. In this case, he's got to be bay, he's got to be plain-looking, he's got to be small.

I'm not taking anything away from any horse. What I don't like to do is run two really fast horses in the same race. Each horse should have his own chance, or you shouldn't run him.

I was surprised I was able to go so slow the first quarter. Bobby (Gonzalez) was getting after his horse to show some speed but his horse wouldn't go. My horse relaxed so nice. When they started to run at him, he picked it up on his own. As soon as horses come to him, he leans forward and wants to go.

She looks at them more as pets than as racehorses. She looks out for their best interests, which is great. Me, I believe if they're fit, things take care of themselves. If you got a fit horse, you got yourself a healthy horse. The worst thing for horses is overtraining them. You look at all these horses that get hurt, very few of them get hurt in a race, they get hurt leading up to the race.
