en The county wants to keep it as rural as possible. There's no way the rural tier could support all that growth. There's not enough infrastructure and there's not even public water or sewer in most of the area.

en What [Reed] announced is they have a defined group of vertical shows. It's not an independent company with an existing infrastructure and management and accounting, and enough scale necessarily to be a platform. A financial buyer would have to build the infrastructure around it. en We are working with the University of West Alabama to grow a program that will grow your own. Success in other states has been shown when you work with people to encourage them to go into medicine. Then, they come to, if not their rural community, another rural community.

en We've had some very famous people through Iowa who failed in the caucuses -- John Glenn, Ted Kennedy drew huge crowds here, but were never able to convert that into caucus support.
