I am familiar with the arguments against taking action in the case of Saddam Hussein, ... Some concede that Saddam is evil, power hungry and a menace, but that until he crosses the threshold of actually possessing nuclear weapons, we should rule out any preemptive action. That logic seems to me to be deeply flawed.

He'd like to see a regime change in Iraq, so the Iraqi people can live in freedom and have more liberties -- and Saddam Hussein can still do that. The burden is on Saddam Hussein.

In my opinion, the religious visions of Bush's circle are anachronistic. I can't believe that John Ashcroft has personal conversations with God every day, who tells him what to do. But if God told him that he should destroy Saddam, then this was the right advice, because a world without Saddam Hussein is better than a world with Saddam Hussein.
