en It's that time of the year. It doesn't take much to get a fire up and running.

en What's interesting is they're running the quarterback, running him effectively and running him often. Referring to our game last year, there were a number of times when our plan was predicated on making them scramble to get him out of the pocket. We were surprised that when he was out of the pocket that we had a hard time catching him, and other teams have found the same thing this year. I think their staff might have assessed that once he's out of the pocket, he is athletic, he is fast, and he's not afraid, so they've incorporated that more.

en With the system we're running now, she doesn't have to be our star. We have 11 kids in the scoring column right now, so she doesn't have to carry the load for us this year.

en This will be my first time running the long course. So there will be a learning curve running a DP for the first time on a track that I haven't run before. I ran on the NASCAR circuit earlier this year so I know that Watkins Glen lives up to all the hype and then some.

en Running a zoo just doesn't make sense when you're talking about cutting police and fire and trash and everything else. Ideally, the zookeepers will go last because this is a phased process, and obviously we have to make sure the animals are taken care of.

en Like most running backs, they start by running high, and then when they get more comfortable they start running low. He's running with his pads low. He's seeing things well. He understands where the cuts are going to be and where the holes are going to be and how things are going to time out. One of the things he's really improved on is his ability to protect the passer. That was a weakness of T.J.'s last year. He's worked hard at it and it's something that he is good at. I know that he'll always be a good runner. He pounds people and he's fun to watch. He's the closer.

en We have a nice veteran team. To have seven seniors is outstanding and it's a mix that has been running since freshman year. They were thrown into the fire early and have come along nicely.

en Things are really dry and it doesn't take much to get a fire going at this time.

en I only played running back for four games but rushed for 1,100 yards and eight touchdowns last season. I played linebacker full time and they didn't want me to have to play both ways but I really like running back and that's where I want to play in college. I'll be playing running back full time this year and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what kind of numbers I'll be able to put up.
