We really wanted to focus on defense right out of the locker room and the girls stepped it up in the third. We stayed on pace and the free throws were big for us, too.

We went into the locker room and we could have been in a better situation, but we missed some free throws. We were pleased and played the style of game that we wanted to. I walked in the locker room and the girls said, 'We're 3-0 right now in the new season,' and that's our thing - we have three more games, we're taking care of business. We have goals that we're focusing on defensively and offensively, and the girls are really striving for that. I think it's narrowed in our focus a little bit.

When you shoot 11-for-24 from the free throw line, you're not brimming with confidence. It was the first thing we talked about in the locker room after the game. It's a different game if we knock down and convert some free throws. We have nobody to blame, that's us.

Those free throws were huge, because she stepped up after she had a rough game with some traveling and turnovers. It was good for her. She stepped up and won the game for her team by making those free throws.

The main thing we (talked about) in the locker room was fouls and free throws. That was going to be a key and it was. That's what we needed to stay in the game.

Free throws, free throws, free throws. We were short-handed and we couldn't sub as much as we wanted to. That's when we decided to go with Matt. We knew he could step in there and knock down some big shots.

Their non-scoring girls stepped up and scored tonight. And they hit 10 of 13 free throws down the stretch and that's hard to come back on.

They were able to stop the bleeding for about 8 seconds so I could shoot the free throws. Then I came back to the locker room, and it took a bit longer than usual to get stitches — probably because I was really in a rhythm.
