en [But wouldn't it benefit Els, I asked, to prepare for the three U.S.-based majors by flying in two or three weeks early to adjust to the time difference and get used to the different playing conditions?] I disagree with that, ... If you're in a country four days before, that's plenty of time. I mean, Ernie has a G-5, he has a bed in his plane, he doesn't even have to pack his bags. It's a piece of bloody cake!

en Having diabetes doesn't mean that you can never enjoy a piece of cake or pie. It does mean that you may have to identify what you will skip - for example, bread or mashed potatoes - in order to have a piece of cake or pie. It also means that you cannot eat the whole pie, but rather one small piece. If you do have diabetes ... discipline now will have great rewards later.

en A lot of our new players struggled because of the conditions. They?re not used to playing in wet and muddy conditions, so it took them a little time to adjust.

en Playing one match in two weeks will help us prepare for district better. This gives us the opportunity to heal some of our injuries and practice on the things we need to work on. We'll be spending a lot of time drawing up scoring plays. We want to be flying before district play starts.

en I had plenty of time to prepare for this fight, six weeks, and I'm in outstanding shape. I'm going in against somebody with a lot of experience and there's no way I'm looking past him. He knows all of the tricks.

en People are telling Ernie to travel less because he is tiring himself out. I hope he doesn't listen to that nonsense. I used to travel round the world with six children, no jet, and it was 30 hours from Johannesburg to America. Ernie's got a bed on his plane, for goodness sake. It's all in the mind.

en I can still hardly believe that I performed last year on the same stage that I watched the Country icons perform on so many times growing up. I have had an amazing year since the release of Kerosene last March. Being asked to perform at The Coliseum again this year is icing on the cake! When you are on that huge stage it hits you that you are singing for the people who truly love Country Music -- it's a little intimidating but exciting at the same time. I am so thankful that CMA has enough confidence in me to give me a great time slot again. Playing the arena tours with Keith Urban and George Strait has helped develop my show and I'm ready to give them the best I've got this year!

en There was a long delay at the airport. Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. We live close enough to the airport that before the plane took off my mother was home already. The phone rang, but she didn't have time to answer it. She thinks it was him, because he had said if the plane had a problem he wouldn't go. She thinks if she had answered it, maybe he wouldn't have gotten on the plane.

en Ernie is as tough as can be, and I think his performance in the last two majors left him highly motivated. I wouldn't be surprised if he won at St. Andrews.

en At the time, I thought it was a piece of cake. Very often, I was playing three clubs a night, sleeping two hours a night, and dashing off to high school. It all seemed very normal to me at the time-especially because I've always believed that success comes from hard work. But I don't think I could ever go back to that kind of lifestyle and not completely lose my mind.

en From the beginning, there was going to be a reshuffling of the deck and we were going to be playing lot of young kids. I knew we might struggle early, but if we could develop as we went, we might be a good team come tournament time. Based on the way we've played the last couple of weeks, I think we've done that.

en When you're playing a lot of hockey, four days off is nice, only because it doesn't come often. You wouldn't want it every other week, but once in a while it's good for the body. We've been going since mid-September, so any time you can get it, it's not a bad thing. I don't mind the rest.

en I am very pleased to have an executive of Ernie's caliber and background join WorkTech, especially as we prepare to extend and enhance our flagship product WorkTech Time Suite for larger markets. Ernie's proven success in growing technology companies and in delivering technology solutions align with our plans for corporate growth.

en It's kind of cool just hanging out, actually. I think it makes a difference to get into a city early like we did this time. We've had a couple days to get adjusted and we're having a good time.

en This was by far the most challenging flying that I have done in my 19-year career. All my past flying helped, but nothing could truly prepare me for what I saw there. There were so many helicopters in the sky at any given time. It was surreal.
